Project Brief

Baladna Food Industries is one of the largest cattle farms in Qatar, spreading over an area of 2.4 million sqm and housing around 22,489 numbers of dairy cattle. The project activity includes the establishment of composting facilities in Baladna Food Industries through the aerobic treatment of dairy waste (animal manure) with the primary objective of reducing the emission of methane (greenhouse gas) in compared to the pre-project baseline scenario. Animal manure was left for anaerobic decomposition in the baseline scenario resulting in the emission of methane. The annual emission reduction over the crediting period is estimated to be around 29,332 tCO2e/annum.
