Burdur Landfill Gas to Electricity Project, developed by the Burdur Yenilenebilir Enerji ve Entegre Katı Atık Yönetimi Limited Şirketi (hereinafter referred to as the “project owner”) is located at the Burdur landfill site in Burdur Province of Türkiye. The landfill receives the waste of approximately 269,926 people living in Ağlasun, Altınyayla, Bucak, Çavdır, Çeltikçi, Gölhisar, Karamanlı, Kemer, Merkez, Tefenni and Yeşilova Districts of the Burdur Municipalities. It is estimated that the landfill received an average of 149,363 tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) between 2000 to 2018. Approximately 65% of this waste consists of organic materials like pulp, paper & cardboard (11.72%), food waste (43.14%), garden waste (1.73%), and other organic waste (9.16%). The average daily amount of waste landfilled is estimated to be around 568 tons/day between the years 2019 and 2028.

The Project activity is expected to result in annual average emission reductions of 46,693 tCO2e and cumulative emission reduction of 466,937 tCO2e over the crediting period.
