Project Brief

Zhuhai Xikengwei Landfill Gas for Power Generation Project , which was invested, developed and operated by Zhuhai Yuan Kong Foam Plastics Co., Ltd., is a project to utilize LFG extracted from an existing landfill as gaseous fuel for power generation. The Project was constructed at Zhuhai Xikengwei Landfill, which is situated at 241# Qingsong Road, Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, P.R. China.

The purpose of the Project is to destroy LFG produced by Xikengwei Landfill sites through using LFG as gaseous fuel for power generation. The construction of the Project was started on 15/06/2019 and completed on 01/02/2020 and began its business operation on the same day. The Project installed 4 sets of gas fired engine and generator with 1.067MW for each, given 4.268MW of installed capacity in total. The electricity generated by the Project is delivered to the Guangdong Grid, a sub-grid of China Southern Power Grid (CSPG), or to the customers who would have to import electricity from the grid. The annual average of net electricity supplied to the grid by the Project is estimated to be 9,261 MWh, which will achieve 53,426 tCO2e of emission reductions per annum.
