Project Brief

Toprak Yenilenebilir Enerji San. Tic. A.Ş. (hereafter referred to as “Toprak Yenilenebilir Enerji”) invested into a new Solar Power Project called Sucatagı Solar Power Plant Bundle Project (hereafter referred to as the “Project” or “Sucatagı SPP”). Sucatagı SPP involves installation and operation of 7 unlicensed (FORTUNA 3, FORTUNA 4, FORTUNA 5, FORTUNA 6, FORTUNA 7, FORTUNA 8 and EFOR 2) solar power projects. Solar panels, inverters and power transmission lines were intended to be built on an area of 20,892 m2 in Aktaş Region of Niğde Province, and 102,253 m2 in Sucatagı Region of Ağrı Province. The total capacity of the project is 6.93 MWe6. Electricity generated from Sucatagı Solar Power Plant Bundle is connected to the national grid through the energy transmission line (4 km 3x477 MCM 33 kV) to the F-2 cell of the Ağrı-2 380 Distribution Center in Ağrı, and to the F-5 cell of the Niğde-2 Distribution Center in Niğde.

An estimated net electricity generation of 12,805 MWh per year by the efficient utilization of the available solar energy by project activity replace the grid electricity, which is constituted of different fuel sources, mainly fossil fuels. The electricity produced by project activity results in a total emission reduction of 8,300 tonnes of CO2e/year. The total emission reduction by the project activity is estimated to be 83,000 tonnes of CO2e for the crediting period.

Additional Information
VERIFICATION OUTCOME
Opinion

The project activity is about installation and operation of solar photovoltaic power plants bundle in the Republic of Turkey. The project consists bundle of seven solar power plant installations at two sites located at Ağrı and Niğde provinces of Turkey. The installation at Ağrı site consist of 6 Nos of identical solar power plants having total electricity generation capacity 5.94 MWe (0.99 MWe each) and installation at Niğde site consistent a single solar power plant of 0.99 MWe capacity. The total generation capacity of the project activity is 6.93 MWe considering all seven plants.
The project activity is a green field project where no renewable power plant was operating prior to the implementation of all seven project activities. The aim of the project is to generate electricity from solar energy, which is a renewable source of energy and thus leads to generation of clean energy. The electricity generated from the project is being supplied to the Turkish national grid there by displacing the electricity which could have been generated from a carbon intensive fossil fuel base power plants.
The project activity involves installation of 7 solar photovoltaic plants having capacity of approximately 1 MW each (0.99 MWe). The total capacity of the project activity comes to 6.93 MWe. Out of 7 plants, the 6 plants are of identical equipment and make having located Sucatagı Village of the Ağrı province. The 7th plant also has the same capacity but different make and is located at the Şarbeli Mevkii Aktaş Village of the Niğde province. The 6 plants located at Sucatagı Village are at the same location of a single solar park. The commissioning date for the earliest project activity plant is 17/02/2020, when all the six plants are Sucatagı solar park are commissioned. The project activity is expected to generate approximately 8,300 tCO2e per year during the crediting period of 10 years.
The legal ownership of all the activity plants
