Project Brief

Guangzhou Xingfeng Landfill Gas for Power Generation Project, which was invested, developed and operated by Guangzhou Huantou Environmental Service Co., Ltd., is a project to utilize LFG extracted from an existing landfill as gaseous fuel for power generation. The Project was constructed at Xingfeng Landfill, which is situated at Xingfeng Village, Taihe Town, Baiyun District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, P.R. China.

The purpose of the Project is to destroy LFG produced by Xingfeng Landfill’s No.6 and No.7 landfill sites through using LFG as gaseous fuel for power generation. The construction of the Project was started on 15/09/2018 and completed on 25/01/2019 and began its business operation on the same day. The Project installed 3 sets of gas fired engine and generator with 2MW of power generation capacity for each, given 6MW of installed capacity in total. The electricity generated by the Project is delivered to the Guangdong Grid, a sub-grid of China Southern Power Grid (CSPG), or to the customers who would have to import electricity from the grid. The annual average of net electricity supplied to the grid by the Project is estimated to be 32,651MWh, which will achieve 85,110 tCO2e of emission reductions per annum.
