Project Brief | Zagros Enerji Üretim A. Ş. has constructed the Silopi Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant project. The aim of the project is to produce and selling electrical energy to the National Electricity Grid of Turkey. The project includes 1 unit where has 2.4 MWm / 2.376 MWe installed capacity. Currently the project is under construction, aiming for a capacity increase. An additional unit, having a capacity of 7.5 MWm / 7.425 MWe will be installed and will be ready to operate in 15/06/2026. Total installed capacity of the project will be 9.9 MWm / 9.801 MWe. Because of avoiding using fossil fuels, greenhouse gas emission reductions can be achieved. The annual electricity delivered to the grid was 76,583 MWh annually, resulting in an estimated emission reduction of 41,431 tCO₂e. The average annual electricity generation over the crediting period is expected to be 76,583 MWh, and the average annual emission reduction is estimated at 41,431 tCO₂e. Over the entire crediting period, the project is expected to reduce approximately 414,314 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. |
