Project Brief

Within the scope of the project, raw material (sludge) will be supplied from the Poultry Slaughterhouse Facility, which also belongs to the Project owner. Heat will be generated by combustion of the treatment sludge coming out of the wastewater treatment facility within the Slaughterhouse. There will be fluidized bed combustion reactors consisting of two parallel lines at the facility. In the reactors where the bubble type fluidized bed technology will be used, sand suitable for the process will be used as the bed material. Together with the sludge, air and natural gas will be fed to the system through the burners.

It is planned to produce 41,920 tons of steam per year by burning 30,000 tons of sludge at the facility. All the generated steam will be used by Beypi A.Ş. to be used in the facility.

In this context, both the disposal and stabilization of the treatment sludge within Beypi will be ensured, and water vapor, which is one of the most important needs for production, will be generated in its own facilities.

As a result, the facility will meet its own needs regarding waste management and heat production as well as contribute positively to the economy of both the region and the country, thanks to the employment it will provide.

It’s estimated that project activity can contribute to emission reduction of 17,987 tCO2e annually and 179,876 tCO2e over the course of the crediting period (10 years).

The project is expected to contribute 5 SDGs which are SDG 7, 8 ,9, 12 and 13.
