Project Brief

Taishan 25MW Solar Power Project (hereafter referred to as “the project”) is a solar PV power project with installed capacity of 25MWp, which locates in Wencun Town, Taishan City, Guangdong Province, P.R. China. The project is invested and operated by Tongwei Fishery and Solar Energy Technology (Jiangmen) Co., Ltd.
The purpose of the project is to utilize the solar energy at the project site to operate and supply electricity to the China Southern Power Grid (CSPG). The spatial extent of the project boundary includes the project power plants and all power plants connected physically to the CSPG. Prior to the implementation of the project, the electricity delivered by the project activity would be generated by the operation of grid-connected power plants.
The project is a renewable energy project and is expected to supply an annual average of 28,437.574 MWh renewable energy to CSPG during 25-year-lifetime, which will reduce dependency of fossil fuel-based electricity power plant. The baseline scenario refers to the energy generation from fossil fuel. The project is expected to achieve a greenhouse gas emission reduction of 19,072  tCO2e annually. The total emission reduction during the fixed 10-year crediting period will be 190,720 tCO2e.

Opinion

The GCC Project Verifier CTI Certification Co., Ltd (CTI), has verified and certify that the GCC Project Activity Taishan 25MW Solar Power Project:

a. has correctly described the Project Activity in the Project Submission Form (Version no. 3.1, Dated 06/07/2025) including the applicability of the approved methodology ACM0002: “Grid-connected electricity generation from renewable sources” (Version 21.0) and meets the methodology applicability conditions, is additional and is expected to achieve the forecasted real, measurable and additional GHG emission reductions, complies with the monitoring methodology, has appropriately conducted local and global stakeholder consultation processes and has calculated emission reduction estimates correctly and conservatively;

b. is likely to generate GHG emission reductions amounting to the estimated 19,072 tCO2e per year and 190,720 tCO2e during fixed 10-year crediting period as indicated in the PSF/18/, which are additional to the reductions that are likely to occur in absence of the Project Activity and complies with all applicable GCC rules, including ISO 14064-2 and ISO 14064-3, and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity;

c. is not likely to cause any net-harm to the environment and/or society and complies with the Environmental and Social Safeguards Standard, and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity, which is likely to achieve the requirements of the Environmental Nonet-harm Label (E+) and the Social No-net-harm Label (S+); and

d. is likely to contribute to the achievement of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), comply with the Project Sustainability Standard, and contribute to achieving a total of 3 SDGs, which is likely to achieve the Silver SDG certification label (SDG+).

e.  The Project Activity complies with all the applicable requirements of the GCC Program and ICAO's requirements on CORSIA Emissions Unit Eligibility Criteria and CORSIA Eligible Emissions Units for the pilot phase, as per Standard on CORSIA Eligibility of Projects and Issuances and the latest ICAO decision. the ACCs expected to be issued during the monitoring period till 31/12/2020 is likely to be CORSIA eligible and can be used by International Airlines for offsetting their emissions during pilot phase of CORSIA and therefore requests GCC Steering Committee to append CORSIA Certification label (C+) to this project for the pilot phase only.
