The proposed project activity includes installation of rooftop solar photovoltaic systems with the objective of generating clean energy (electricity) for the purpose of inhouse/captive consumption in the commercial facilities of the project owners. Consumption of clean electricity generated in the project activity by harnessing renewable energy (solar) resources has resulted in avoidance of grid power that was used by the project facility/project owner in the pre-project scenario. The project activity has therefore resulted in curbing emission of greenhouse gas, which would have been emitted from generation of equivalent amount of electricity in the grid tied power plant, that has been avoided due to the project activity. The project activity encompasses bundled rooftop solar power project comprising of three individual solar power plants) with cumulative capacity of 8.00 MWp. The proposed project activity deployed in Turkey by MEM Tekstil Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi is a green field project activity as no renewable/solar power plants were operating at project sites prior to the implementation of the project activity. The project is expected to result in an average annual supply of 16,705 MWh/year.
