Project Brief

Implemented with the objective of generating clean energy (electricity) by harnessing renewable
energy (solar) resources and curbing emission of greenhouse gas, the proposed project activity
includes bundled Solar Power Projects (comprising of Five individual solar power plants) with
cumulative capacity of 9.63 MW. The solar power projects are deployed in Jordan by Philadelphia
Solar at sites where no renewable/solar power plants were operating prior to the implementation of
the project activity (green-field power plant6).

Additional Information

The electricity generated from project activity (operational solar power plant) is exported to the load
and Jordanian National Grid, thus replaces the feeding of equivalent amount of electricity generated
from the operation of existing grid connected power plants (mostly fossil fuel based). The project
activity thus reduces the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) associated with
equivalent amount of electricity generation from the existing grid connected power plants (mostly
fossil fuel based).
