Project Brief

Xinjiang Gaizi River Gaizi Hydropower Station Project (hereafter referred to as “the project”) is a hydropower project with total installed capacity of 116.1MW. The project is invested and operated by Guangxi Water Conservancy and Electricity Group Xinjiang Kezhou Water Conservancy and Power Generation Co., Ltd.. The project locates in Akto County, Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,China. The purpose of the project is to utilize the hydropower at the project site to generate and supply electricity to Northwest China Power Grid (NWCPG).

The project is a renewable energy project and is expected to supply an annual average of 381,085MWh of zero-emission electricity to NWCPG during the fixed 10-year crediting period, which will replace power generation of those fossil fuel-fired power plants delivered to the NWCPG under the baseline scenario. The project is expected to achieve a green-house gas emission reduction of 253,974tCO2e annually. The total emission reductions during the fixed 10-year crediting period will be 2,539,740 tCO2e.
