Project Brief

The Maslaktepe WPP  is a new built wind power plant, located in Çanakkale Province, Turkey owned by Eni Enerji İnşaat Taahhüt Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. The generation license of the project was issued by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) on 15/03/2012 for 49 years. The project has an installed capacity of 52.9 MWm/51.525 MWe and the annual generation is estimated to be 185,362 MWh. Currently, 11 wind turbines (52.9 MW) are in operation, but additional 3 (17.70 MW) turbines will be commissioned in near future.

The purpose of the Project is to produce renewable electricity using wind as the power source and to contribute to Turkey’s growing electricity demand through a sustainable and low carbon technology. The project will displace the same amount of electricity generated by the grid dominated with fossil fired power plants. The annual emission reduction estimated by the project is 120,151 tonnes of CO2.
