Project Brief

Qianzhong Pingzhai Hydro Power Project (hereafter referred to as “the project”) is a hydro power project with total installed capacity of 146.6MW. The project is invested and operated by Guizhou Water Conservancy Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. The project locates in Sancha River, Qianzhong Village, Niuchang Town, Liuzhi District, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, China.

The purpose of the project is to utilize the hydraulic energy at the project site to generate and supply electricity to China Southern Power Grid (CSPG).

The spatial extent of the project boundary includes the project power plant and all power plants connected physically to CSPG that the project is connected to.

Prior to the implementation of the project, the electricity delivered to the grid by the project activity would be generated by the operation of grid-connected power plants and by the addition of new generation sources into the CSPG.

The project is a renewable energy project and is expected to supply 330,535 MWh of zero-emission electricity to CSPG annually, which will replace power generation of those fossil fuel-fired power plants delivered to the CSPG under the baseline scenario. The project is expected to achieve an annual GHG emission reduction of 160,309 tCO2e. The total expected emission reductions during the fixed 10-year crediting period will be 1,603,090 tCO2e.
