Project Brief

The Purpose of this bundled project activity is to generate the clean electricity from the solar energy and feed the generated electricity to the Indian grid. The bundled project activity involves installation of two solar photovoltaic power generation projects in India at two different locations with installed capacities of 20 MW and 10 MW each aggregated to total capacity of 30 MW. The projects are installed in Bihar and Karnataka State, India. This project activity will replace average anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be approximately 40,567 tCO2e per year,

TÜV SÜD ensures that project titled as “30 MW Bundled Solar Power Project in India” (‘the Project’) which is listed under GCC registry with reference number S00694, complies with the criteria of project standard where details of project activity are described as per requirement of Project Submission Form Version 4.0 (template) where the applicability conditions are met as per requirement of ACM0002, Version 21.0. TÜV SÜD’s project verification approach was based upon criteria set outs by the GCC rules following the standard guideline provided in Project Verification Standard Version 3.1. TÜV SÜD’s project verification process considers the risks associated with reporting GHG emissions data and the controls in place to mitigate risk occurred from identified causes of uncertainty. As per standard practice to ensure that project complies with all the requirement of GCC rules below stepwise process is followed as part of project verification: ▪ Project Activity and complies with all applicable GCC rules, including ISO 14064-2 and ISO 14064-3 ▪ Project Owner has provided all the project activity information as per the requirements of latest version of PSF template ▪ LOA/LON is provided as per the standard format provided under GCC program ▪ Applied CDM/GCC methodology and methodological tools are of valid version as per the criteria of Project Standard ▪ Estimated GHG emissions reductions are calculated correctly and conservatively in accordance with the applied methodology ▪ Local and Stakeholder consultation is held as per Project Standard. ▪ Project Activity is likely to cause net-harm to the environment and/or society and complies with the Environmental and Social Safeguards Standard ▪ Project Activity is likely to achieve achieve the requirements of the Environmental No-netharm Label (E+ ) and the Social No-net harm Label (S+ ) ▪ Project Activity is likely to contribute to the achievement of United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), comply with the Project Sustainability Standard ▪ No post registration changes are required against the requirement of applied methodology TÜV SÜD conforms that the project is expected to achieve estimated emission reduction of 4,05,669 tCO2e that are likely to occur in absence of the Project Activity during first crediting period which is fixed for 10 years (28/09/2017 to 27/09/2027 including first and last date), calculated in accordance with the applied methodology. TÜV SÜD conforms that project activity is likely to cause net-harm to the environment and/or society also it conforms that project activity contribute to achieving a total of 3 SDGs, which is likely to achieve the Silver (level 2) SDG certification label (SDG+) .TÜV SÜD conforms that Project Owners have conducted the local and global stakeholder consultation in accordance with the process developed in project standard against the requirement of GCC rules. TÜV SÜD concludes that project titled as “30 MW Bundled Solar Power Project in India” which is listed under GCC registry with reference number S00694, is eligible for request for registration as it complies with all applicable GCC rules, including ISO 14064-2 and ISO 14064-3, and therefore GCC Verifier requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity.
