Project Brief

The proposed project activity has been undertaken to harness the available solar power potential to generate clean power in Uttar Pradesh. The proposed project activity is a 10 MW Solar Photovoltaic based power generation by Sun N Wind Infra Energy Pvt. Ltd. (SWIEPL). The project activity is hosted at Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh state of India. The proposed project activity will use Polycrystalline Solar PV modules manufactured by Canadian solar. The power generated by the project will be supplied to the Indian grid in accordance with a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).The project activity will help in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction by using renewable resources (Solar energy) for generating power which otherwise would have been generated using grid mix power plants, which is dominated by fossil fuel based thermal power plants. The project activity is a green field project aimed at harnessing solar energy to produce power. The estimated annual average and the total CO2e emission reduction by the project activity over the crediting period of 10 years are expected to be 14,995 tCO2e and 149,950 tCO2e respectively.
