Project Brief | The project title is Karamursel Wind Power Project. Ruzen Elektrik Üretim ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi planned to install 6 wind turbines 1x(4.2 MWm/4.2 MWe) and 5x(5.8 MWm/5.8 MWe) in Karamursel district of Kocaeli province and İznik district of Bursa of Turkey with the purpose of contributing to the national economy the meeting the increased electricity demand. The project is licensed on 03/06/2021 as 33.2 MWm/33.2 MWe. As per the license issued by Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) all legal rights of the project is given to Ruzen Elektrik Üretim ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi. An estimated electricity net generation of 116,743 MWh by the efficient utilization of the available wind energy by project activity will replace the grid electricity, which is constituted of different fuel sources, mainly fossil fuels. Finally, the electricity produced by project activity will result in a total emission reduction of 75,673 tonnes of CO2e/year and 756,730 tonnes of CO2 for the whole crediting period. |

Opinion | KBS Certification Services Ltd. has been contracted by Cengiz Enerji Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş. to undertake the independent project verification of the GCC project activity which is Karamursel Wind Power Project. The GCC Project Verifier, KBS Certification Services Ltd., has verified and certified that Karamursel Wind Power Project a) has correctly described the Project Activity in the PSF version 04 and dated 24/10/2023 including the applicability of the approved methodology ACM0002 Version 21.0 and meets the methodology applicability conditions, is additional and is expected to achieve the forecasted real and additional GHG emission reductions, complies with the monitoring methodology, has appropriately conducted local and global stakeholder consultation processes and has calculated emission reduction estimates correctly and conservatively; b) is likely to generate GHG emission reductions amounting to the estimated 77,856 tCO2e annual average, as indicated in the PSF /1/, which are additional to the reductions that are likely to occur in absence of the Project Activity and complies with all applicable GCC rules, including ISO 14064-2 and ISO 14064-3, and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity; c) is not likely to cause any net-harm to the environment and/or society and complies with the Environmental and Social Safeguards Standard Version 3.0, and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity, which is likely to achieve the requirements of the Environmental No-net-harm Label (E+) and the Social No-net-harm Label (S+); d) is likely to contribute to the achievement of United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), comply with the Project Sustainability Standard Version 3.1, and contribute to achieving a total of 3 SDGs, which is likely to achieve the Silver SDG certification label (SDG+); and e) is eligible for CORSIA Label (C+) certification. |
