Project Brief

The proposed project activity is the installation of a new grid-connected 100 MW AC Solar power plant/unit at a site where no renewable power plant was operating prior to the implementation of the project activity (green-field plant). The project activity is solar power project which is already been implemented and commissioned in state Uttar Pradesh of host country India by Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited. The electricity generated from Project Activity is exported to the Indian grid thereby displacing the consumption of electricity from the regional grid electricity distribution system, in the absence of the project activity.

Additional Information

The crediting period chosen for the project activity “Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited” is 10 years fixed Crediting Period in which the total GHG emission reduction estimated is around 1,896,842 tCO2. The annual average estimated emission reductions over the fixed crediting period  from project activity is 189,684 tCO2/Annum.

Opinion

The GCC Project Verifier, LGAI Technological Center S.A., has verified and certified that the GCC Project Activity – ‘100 MW solar power project in UP by Tata Power Renewables Energy Limited’ has correctly described the Project Activity in the Project Submission Form (version 9.0), dated 14/06/2024 including the applicability of the approved methodology ACM0002 version 21.0. and meets the methodology applicability conditions, is additional and is expected to achieve the forecasted real, measurable  and additional GHG emission reductions, complies with the monitoring methodology, has appropriately conducted local and global stakeholder consultation processes and has calculated emission reduction estimates correctly and conservatively; is likely to generate GHG emission reductions amounting to the estimated 189,684 tCO2e annual average, as indicated in the PSF which are additional to the reductions that are likely to occur in absence of the Project Activity and complies with all applicable GCC rules, including ISO 14064-2 and ISO 14064-3 and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity; is not likely to cause any net-harm to the environment and/or society and complies with the Environmental and Social Safeguards Standard/6/, and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity, which is likely to achieve the requirements of the Environmental No-net-harm Label (E+) and the Social No-net-harm Label (S+); and is likely to contribute to the achievement of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), CORSIA requirements, comply with the Project Sustainability Standard and contribute to achieving a total of 3 SDGs, which is likely to achieve the Silver SDG certification label (SDG+).
