The proposed Project Activity is a bundled new grid-connected 74.4 MW wind power plant/unit with one bundle that consists two project activities and at a site where no renewable power plant was operating prior to the implementation of the project activity (green-field plant). The Project Activity is being implemented in state of Andhra Pradesh in India by Poly Solar Parks Private Limited- 24 MW and Greenko Sandla Wind Project Private Limited- 50.4 MW respectively. These projects were allotted by New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd. (NREDCAP), which is acting as a Nodal Agency as per orders of Govt. of A.P. vide G.O.Ms.No.9 dt.13.02.2015 of Energy, Infrastructure & Investment (PR.II) Dept. accords approval for setting up of wind power projects in the State. These are old projects before process of “Bidding” has started and here the proposals were given to government nodal agencies for setting up such projects. Hence the state of Andhra Pradesh is considered as geographical area and the project boundary includes the project site where the plant has been installed, power evacuation infrastructure including the other power stations feeding to the connected electricity grid, energy metering points, switch yards and other civil constructs. Here the project uses wind energy that rotates wind turbines, the rotating turbines generate electricity. The electricity generated from Project Activity is exported to the integrated Indian grid. The electricity generated by the Project Activity thus replaces the equivalent amount of electricity generated by the operation of existing grid connected power plants; mostly fossil fuel based power plants and by addition of new fossil fuel based plants.
