Project Brief

The project involves installation of a 24 MW small hydro power projects by Chhattisgarh Hydro Power LLP (CHPLLP) in the north eastern region of the Chhattisgarh state of India. The purpose of the project is to generate electricity from renewable sources of energy to supply to the national grid of India. The project harnesses the head available in the river IB in a run-of-river hydro power development system.

Additional Information

The project displaces electricity that would otherwise have been supplied by the national grid of India which currently has an emission factor of 0.9087 tCO2e/MWh. This project generates annual average GHG emission reductions of approximately 91,100 tCO2e. In entire crediting period of 10 years, the project is estimated to generate 911,000 tCO2e.
