Project Brief	Konakpınar WPP has been developed by Akyurt Rüzgar Enerji Üretim ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi. The purpose of the project is to generate clean energy by harnessing the wind power and providing the energy to the Turkish national grid. By implementing the project, investors also aim to reduce dependency to the fossil fuels thereby reducing the sources of environmental pollution. In this scope, Akyurt Rüzgar Enerji Üretim ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi planned to install 7*(2.1 MWm/1.714 MWe) wind turbines in Gürün districts of Sivas province of Turkey with the purpose of contributing to the national economy the meeting the increased electricity demand. The project activity generates greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions by avoiding CO2 emissions from electricity generation by fossil fuel power plants connected to Turkish National Power Grid. The average annual generated energy is expected to be 50,900 MWh and the project will be able to deliver a reduction in emissions of around 29,389 tCO2e per annum.

VERIFICATION OUTCOME

Opinion	The project activity, Konakpınar wind power project is about operation of wind power in the Turkey by Akyurt Rüzgar Enerji Üretim ve Ticaret Anonim Şirket. The project activity consists of 7 Gamesa wind turbines of 2.1 MWm/1.714 Mwe capacity each. The aim of the project is to generate electricity from wind energy, which is a renewable source of energy and thus leads to generation of clean energy. The electricity generated from this project has been supplied to the Turkish national grid there by displacing the electricity which could have been generated from a carbon intensive fossil fuel-based power plant. The project activity involves installation of 7 wind turbines having mechanical capacity of 2.1 MWm, and electrical output capacity of 1.714 MWe. Thus, the total installed capacity of the project comes to 14.7 MWm and 12 MWe of electrical output. The wind power plant is located at the inner Anatolian Region of Turkey. The project activity has commissioned on 29/09/2016/20/ and shall generate approximately 28,521 tCO2e per year during the crediting period of 10 years. The legal ownership of all the WTGs of project activity is with Akyurt Rüzgar Enerji Üretim ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi.
