Project Brief

The Project Activity is the installation of a new captive 2.4 MW (DC) Solar power plant/unit at a site. The project is implemented in Chittorgarh district, Rajasthan state of India. The electricity generated from Project Activity is exported to the Indian cement plant in India there by displacing electricity from the regional grid electricity distribution system generated by fossil fuel-based power plants. The electricity generated by the Project Activity thus replaces the equivalent amount of electricity generated by the operation of existing/ captive power plants (mostly fossil fuel-based power plants) and by addition of new generation sources into the grid. The Project Activity thus reduces the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in to the atmosphere associated with the equivalent amount of electricity generation from the existing captive power plants (mostly fossil fuel) and by addition of new generation sources into the grid.

Additional Information

The project will replace anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be approximately 3,602 tCO2e per year, there on displacing estimated average of 3,871 MWh/year amount of electricity from the generation-mix of power plants connected to the Indian grid, which is mainly dominated by thermal/fossil fuel-based power plant. Project activity will mitigate the total GHG emission reductions of 36,020 tCO2e over the entire crediting period.
