Project Brief

The proposed bundled project activity involves the installation of new 55 MW grid-connected Solar Power Projects in Ettankulam Village of Tirunelveli district in Tamilnadu State of India at a site where no renewable power plant was operating prior to the implementation of the project activity (green-field plant). The electricity generated from Project Activity is exported to the Indian grid there by displacing the consumption of electricity from the regional grid electricity distribution system.

Additional Information

The electricity generated by the project “55 MW Solar Project in Tamil Nadu” will thus replace the equivalent amount of electricity generated by the operation of existing grid connected power plants (mostly fossil fuel-based power plants). The crediting period chosen for the project activity “55 MW Solar Project in Tamil Nadu’’ by Nellai Renewables Pvt Ltd is 10 years Crediting Period. The annual average estimated emission reductions from project activity are 1,13,535 tCO2e/annum.
