Project Brief |
Wangpo coal mine 7.5MW CMM generation project (hereafter referred to as “the project”) is a CMM power project with total installed capacity of 7.5MWMW. The project is invested and operated by Jincheng Dubao Power Development Co., Ltd. The project locates in Tali Village, Xiacun Town, Zezhou County, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, People’s Republic of China. The purpose of the project is to utilize the CMM from the Wangpo coal mine to generate and supply electricity to North China Power Grid (NCPG).Prior to the implementation of the project, the coal mine methane (CMM) gas extracted due to safety reasons from the Wangpo coal mine would be vented into the atmosphere. The project activity will utilize low-concentration CMM with an average concentration of 15% for power generation. Annually it will destroy 14,482,800 m3 of pure methane and generate 51,200 MWh of net electricity per year. The project is far away from the surrounding heat users, and there are isolated mountains in the middle, and the local heat pipe network system is not perfect. Therefore, the utilization of unit waste heat is not considered in this project .Thus the project reduces green house gas such as CH4 and CO2.The project is expected to achieve a green-house gas emission reduction of 249,279 tCO2e annually. The total emission reductions during the fixed 10-year crediting period will be 2,492,789 tCO2e. |
