Project Brief

Garze Prefecture Zier River Mawo Hydropower Station Project (hereafter referred to as “the project”) is located in Zier Township, Jiulong County, Garze Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the second step from top to bottom in the "one reservoir and three levels" scheme of Zier River hydropower planning. The main purpose of the project is using the hydro potential available in Zier River to generate electricity. The installation capacity of the Project is 32MW, generating approximately 148,150MWh annually and provide net power of 140,040MWh to the grid per year. The project is a run-of-river hydropower plant, no new reservoir will exist in the proposed project, the plant load factor (PLF) of the project is 52.85%. The Project will be connected through Sichuan Provincial Grid to the Central China Power Grid (CCPG) and substitute the CCPG’s fossil-fuel-fired power generation with an annual amount of 80,102 tCO2e emission reduction.
