Project Brief

SunanYugur Autonomous County Longyang Hydropower Co., Ltd has constructed the Taolai River. The aim of the project is to produce electrical energy to the Northwest ChinaPowerGrid (NWCPG). There are no purposes such as irrigation and flood control. It provides cheaper energy for industrialists and therefore, it gains advantage in the competitive environment.

By means of reducing dependency to the fossil fuels, environmental pollution is significantly reduced. Also, clean energy is generated by using hydro power. Regarding to this, SunanYugur Autonomous County Longyang hydropower Co., Ltd constructed a hydropower plant in Zhulongguan village, QifengTownship, SunanYugur Autonomous County,Zhangye City, Gansu Province, China. Based on the applied tool, the project boundary is considered as the Northwest ChinaPowerGrid (NWCPG). The baseline scenario refers to the energy generation from the fossil fuels.

The project includes Taolai RiverHydropower only, whose installed capacity is 15.15 MW. According to the generation license, annual electricity production is expected to be 72,100 MWh for the project.

Because of avoiding to use fossil fuels, greenhouse gas emission reductions can be achieved. The average annual generated electricity is expected to be 72,100 MWh according to the generation license and the emission reduction is estimated around 48,047 tCO2 annually. For the entire crediting period, 480,470 tCO2 are expected to be reduced.
