Project Brief

The proposed Project Activity is the installation of 10 MW solar power plant by Celestial Solar
Solutions Private Limited at Village - Channammanagathihallli, Taluk - Challakere, District –
Chitradurga of Karnataka State in India. The electricity generated from Project Activity is exported
to the Indian grid in India there by displacing the consumption of electricity from the regional grid
electricity distribution system. The electricity generated by the Project Activity thus replaces the
equivalent amount of electricity generated by the operation of existing/ grid connected power plants
(mostly fossil fuel based power plants) and by addition of new generation sources into the grid. The
Project Activity thus reduces the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in to the
atmosphere associated with the equivalent amount of electricity generation from the existing grid

Additional Information

The project shall result in replacing anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be
approximately 16,737 tCO2e per year, thereon displacing 17,988 MWh/year amount of electricity from the
gird. The project activity aims to harness solar energy through the installation of Solar PV project with total
installed capacity of 10 MW.
