Project Brief

The purpose of the project is to help Turkey to stimulate and commercialize the use of grid connected renewable energy technologies and markets. Furthermore, the project will demonstrate the viability of grid connected wind farms which can support improved energy security, improved air quality, alternative sustainable energy futures, improved local livelihoods and sustainable renewable energy industry development. Combined annual renewable energy generation from all three individual projects is expected to be 329,000 MWh per year connected to the Turkish grid, which is mainly dominated by thermal/fossil fuel-based power plant. Over the first 10-year crediting period, the project will replace anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be approximately 2,132,570 tCO2e. The total capacity of the project is 94 MWe.
