Project Brief | The purpose of the project is to help Turkey to stimulate and commercialize the use of grid connected renewable energy technologies and markets. Furthermore, the project will demonstrate the viability of grid connected solar farms which can support improved energy security, improved air quality, alternative sustainable energy futures, improved local livelihoods and sustainable renewable energy industry development. Combined annual generation from all thirteen individual projects is expected to be 19,423 MWh per year. Over the first 10 years crediting period, the project will replace anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be approximately 12,589 tCO2e/year for the bundle project, thereon displacing 19,423 MWh/yr amount of electricity from the generation-mix of power plants connected to the Turkish grid, which is mainly dominated by thermal/fossil fuel-based power plant. The estimated emission reductions during the crediting period of the project activity is considered to be 125,890 tCO2e. The capacity is 12.97 MWe. |
