Project Brief

The purpose of the project is to help Turkey to stimulate and commercialize the use of grid connected renewable energy technologies and markets. Furthermore, the project will demonstrate the viability of grid connected solar farms which can support improved energy security, improved air quality, alternative sustainable energy futures, improved local livelihoods and sustainable renewable energy industry development. Combined annual generation from all three individual projects is expected to be 23,000 MWh per year. Over the first 10 years crediting period, the project will replace anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be approximately 14,908 tCO2e/year for all projects, thereon displacing 23,000 MWh/year amount of electricity from the generation-mix of power plants connected to the Turkish grid, which is mainly dominated by thermal/fossil fuel-based power plant. The total estimated emission reductions for the current crediting period of 10 years is 149,080 tCO2e. The total capacity of the project is 12.6 MWe.
