Project Brief

Adani Green Energy Limited, has installed 250 MW wind power plant/unit at Dayapar Town in Kachchh District of Gujarat. The proposed Dayapar Wind Project, located in Gujarat, is approximately 40 km to southwest of Bhuj in Kachchh. In the absence of the project activity, no renewable power plant was operating prior to the implementation of the project activity (green-field plant). The project activity is wind power project which is being implemented in Kutch, Gujarat of India, that supplies power to the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), an intermediary in procuring power in-line with the Guidelines for Tariff based Competitive bidding process for the procurement of power, from grid connected project. The power generated from the project activity is fed into the respective substation and Indian National Grid, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emission reduction into the atmosphere. The amount of power generated is 711,750 MWh/year and has achieved 662,283 tCO2e/Annum that is equivalent to 6,622,834 tCO2 for the entire crediting period of 10 years.

Opinion

4K Earth Science Private Limited has been contracted to undertake verification of the project activity “Wind Energy Project in Kutchh, Gujarat" in India. The verification was performed based on rules and requirements defined by GCC for the project activity.

The project involves installation of wind turbines with an installed capacity of 250 MW. This wind project is located in Dayapar Town in Kutchh Gujarat. PPA has already been taken and a tariff of INR 2.82 per kWh The project activity is a greenfield plant i.e there was no renewable energy plant existing prior to the implementation of this project. The project activity is wind power project which is being implemented in Kutchh, Gujarat of India, that supplies power to the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), an intermediary in procuring power in-line with the Guidelines for Tariff based Competitive bidding process for the procurement of power, from grid connected project. The power generated from the project activity is fed into the respective substation and Indian National Grid, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emission reduction into the atmosphere. The amount of power generated is 711,750 MWh/year producing  6,622,834 tCO2 for the entire crediting period of 10 years.

4K Earth Science Private Limited has verified and hereby certifies that the GCC Project Activity “Wind Energy Project in Kutchh, Gujarat”:

·        has correctly described the Project Activity in the Project Submission Form (version 4.0, dated 07/09/2024) including the applicability of the approved methodology GCCM001, version 4.0 and meets the methodology applicability conditions, is additional and is expected to achieve the forecasted real measurable and additional GHG emission reductions, complies with the monitoring methodology, has appropriately conducted local and global stakeholder consultation processes and has calculated emission reduction estimates correctly and conservatively;

·        is likely to generate GHG emission reductions amounting to the estimated 6,622,834 tCO2eq over the fixed crediting period of ten years, as indicated in the PSF, which are additional to the reductions that are likely to occur in absence of the Project Activity and complies with all applicable GCC rules, including ISO 14064-2 and ISO 14064-3, and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity
