Project Brief

The project activity consists of setting up of Wind Turbine Generator (WTGs) of a total capacity of 10MW in the state of Tamil NaduThe project activity involves the bundling of 5 Wind Turbine Generator (WTGs) of rated capacity 2000 kW each. All the WTGs are manufactured by M/s. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power Private Limited. The project activity generates power by using the kinetic energy of wind, thus resulting in zero emissions during electricity production. The power produced would displace an equivalent amount of power from the grid connected power stations, which are mainly fossil fuel fired power plants. Hence, it results in reduction of GHG emissions in electricity generation

Additional Information

The project will replace anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be approximately 20,042tCO2e per year (Annual Average Over the crediting Period), thereon displacing estimated average of 21,539 MWh/year(Annual Avergae Over the crediting period )amount of electricity from the generation-mix of power plants connected to the Indian grid, which is mainly dominated by thermal/fossil fuel-based power plant. Project activity will mitigate the total GHG emission reductions of 200,423 tCO2e over the total crediting period ten years .
