Project Brief

Yunnan Huize Cangfang Wind Power Project (hereafter referred to as the Project) is a wind power project with total installed capacity of 48MW, locates in Cangfang Village, Huize County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, P.R. China. The project is invested, built and operated by Huize Xiehe Wind Power Co., Ltd., therefore, Huize Xiehe Wind Power Co., Ltd. is the project developer and legal owner of the project facilities. Climate Bridge (Shanghai) Ltd. is authorized by Huize Xiehe Wind Power Co., Ltd. to act as the project owner of the proposed GCC project and carbon credits under GCC program.
The project has installed 24 sets of wind turbine generators with unit capacity of 2MW. The purpose of the project is to utilize the wind resource at the project site to generate and supply electricity to China South Power Grid (CSPG).
The spatial extent of the project boundary includes the project power plant and all power plants connected physically to CSPG that the project is connected to.
Prior to the implementation of the project, the electricity delivered to the grid by the project activity would be generated by the operation of grid-connected power plants and by the addition of new generation sources into the CSPG.
The project is a renewable energy project and is expected to supply 99,500 MWh of zero-emission electricity to CSPG, which will replace power generation of those fossil fuel-fired power plants delivered to the CSPG under the baseline scenario. The project is expected to achieve a green-house gas emission reduction of 74,008 tCO2e annually. The total emission reductions during the fixed 10-year crediting period will be 740,080 tCO2e.

VERIFICATION OUTCOME
Opinion

The project activity is about installation and operation of wind power plant in the Yunnan Province, P.R. China by Huize Xiehe Wind Power Co. Ltd. The project activity consists of 24 wind turbines of Gamesa make G-90 model having 2 MW capacity each. The project activity is a green field project at site where no renewable power plant was operating prior to the implementation of the project activity. The aim of the project is to generate electricity from wind energy, which is a renewable source of energy and thus leads to generation of clean energy. The electricity generated from the project is being supplied to the China Southern Power Grid (CSPG) there by displacing the electricity which could have been generated from a carbon intensive fossil fuel-based power plants in the grid.
The project activity involves installation of 24 wind turbines having capacity of 2 MW each. Thus, the total installed capacity of the project activity comes to 48 MW. The wind power plant is located at the Cangfang Village, Huize County, Qujing City, Yunnan Province, P.R. China. The project activity has already commissioned on 18/01/2017/20/ and shall generate approximately 74,008 tCO2e per year during the crediting period of 10 years.
The legal ownership of all WTGs and project facilities is with Huize Xiehe Wind Power Co., Ltd. Huize Xiehe Wind Power Co., Ltd. has authorized Climate Bridge (Shanghai) Ltd. to act as Project Owner.
