Project Brief

The project title is Çalıkobası Regulator and Hydro Power Plant. The project includes 3 units which are Çalıkobası regulator and two HPPs which are Çalıkobası-1 HPP and Çalıkobası-2 HPP. Çalıkobası-1 HPP has 9.21 MWm / 8.84 MWe installed capacity and Çalıkobası-2 HPP has 8.90 MWm / 8.54 MWe installed capacity. The total installed capacity of the power plant is 18.11 MWm / 17.38 MWe. Çalıkobası HPP is in the Bulancak district of Giresun province of Turkey with the purpose of contributing to the national economy the meeting the increased electricity demand. The project is licensed on 14/06/2012 as 18.11 Mwm/17.38 MWe. As per the license issued by Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) all legal rights of the project is given to H.H.K. Enerji Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. An estimated electricity net generation of 42,330 MWh by the efficient utilization of the available wind energy by project activity will replace the grid electricity, which is constituted of different fuel sources, mainly fossil fuels. Finally, the electricity produced by project activity will result in a total emission reduction of 23,502 tonnes of CO2e/year and 253,020 tonnes of CO2 for the whole crediting period.
