The BALIKLI Hydro Power Plant is a hydropower power type, grid connected renewable electricity generation project. Energy is produced at the BALIKLI hydro power plant within the borders of Arhavi District of Artvin Turkey.
Facility that categorized as the installation of a new renewable power plant installation was started commercial operation at 02/09/2016.
The baseline scenario of the submitted project is the supply of electricity need or production within the project boundaries (national interconnected grid network) from a renewable energy source instead of fossil fuel power plants where carbon-based fuels that cause greenhouse gas emissions are consumed.
Due to the existence of BALIKLI hydro power, the CO2 emissions that will arise from the fossil fuel facilities to be established for energy supply have been displaced.
Project will be able to deliver a reduction in emissions of around 15670 tCO2e (tons of carbon dioxide equivalent) per annum.
Start date of crediting period is project commissioning date, on which project is connected to grid and started generating electricity to the grid there by started generating GHG emission reductions is considered as start date which is. Therefore, start date of crediting period is 02/09/2016.The crediting period is fixed as 10 years. The first crediting period is between 02.09.2016- 31.12.2025.
The expected operational life of the project activity is the duration of the generation license. Therefore, the license period (in other words, the expected operational life of the project activity) is valid until 26/10/2060.
