Project Brief

Rüzgar Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. has constructed Geriş Wind Power Plant Project in Bodrum district, Muğla province, Turkey. The aim of the project is to produce electrical energy from wind to supply to the Turkish national grid.

The project includes 4 units. Each unit has 3 MWm / 2.8 MWe capacity and they have total 12.0 MWm / 11.2 MWe installed capacity. The commissioning date of the project is 30/10/2018. The project complies with the relevant regulations and laws in Turkey. The Geriş Wind Power Plant was constructed by Rüzgar Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. and “EIA is not required" decision was made by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization on 19/10/2017.

The project activity will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emission by avoiding CO2 emission from electricity generation by fossil fuel power plants connected to Turkish National Power Grid. Total installed capacity is 12.0 MWm / 11.2 MWe. The average annual generated energy is expected to be 39,244 MWh and the project will be able to deliver a reduction in emissions of around 25,437 tCO2e (tons of carbon dioxide equivalent) annually. For the entire crediting period, 254,370 tonnes of CO2 are expected to be reduced.
