Project Brief

Universal Wind Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. has constructed the İstanbul Wind Power Plant Project. The aim of the project is to produce electrical energy from wind for the Turkish national grid. Universal Wind Elektrik Üretim A.Ş. constructed a wind power plant in Çatalca district, İstanbul province, Turkey. The project activity will generate greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions by avoiding CO2 emissions from electricity generation by fossil fuel power plants connected to the Turkish National Power Grid. The total installed capacity is 200 MW. The average annual generated energy is expected to be 700,000 MWh and the project will be able to deliver a reduction in emissions of around 453,740 tCO2e (tons of carbon dioxide equivalent) annually.
