Project Brief | This project activity is the installation of a 250 MW solar power plant in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It covers the administrative boundaries of Jamsar, Lalsar and Akadeeyawala villages. The project activity aims at harnessing the abundant solar energy of the state through photovoltaic technology and supply the generated power to the MSEDCL (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited). The purpose of this project activity is to generate clean and renewable electricity from solar energy and feed the generated power to the MSEDCL through the inter-state transmission systems, controlled by the PGCIL (Power Grid Corporation of India Limited), thus reducing the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) into the atmosphere associated with the equivalent amount of electricity generation from the existing grid-connected power plants. |

Additional Information | The project activity replaces an average anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be approximately 578,415 tCO2e per year and 5,784,159 tCO2e for the entire crediting period, thereby displacing an estimated annual average of 621,617 MWh/yr and 6,216,179 MWh for the entire crediting period from the generation-mix of power plants, which is mainly dominated by grid-connected power plants. |
