Project Brief

The purpose of the project activity is to generate clean electricity and feed it to the national electricity grid of India. The project consists of the installation of 100 MWac (10MWac*10) solar power plants in six districts of Maharashtra state under “MUKHYAMANTRI SAUR KRUSHI VAHINI YOJANA”. The project boundary includes the project site where the plant has been installed, power evacuation infrastructure including grid substations feeding to the connected electricity grid, metering points, switchyards, and civil structures.

The baseline of the project activity is the continued generation of electricity in the national grid of India. The electricity generation in India is still highly carbon intensive. According to the latest data from the Central Electricity Authority (CEA)   on the carbon intensity of grid electricity, the combined margin emission factor of the grid electricity is 0.9352 tCO2e/MWh, and therefore electricity generation from the proposed solar power projects will result in emission reductions.

Additional Information

It is estimated that the project activity will generate an average of 217,591 MWh /Yr. electricity which will lead to an average of 203,490 tCO2e GHG emission reduction per year and effect a cumulative green power generation and GHG emission reduction of 2,175,911 MWh and 2,034,907 tCO2e over 10 years of its crediting period respectively.
