Project Brief

The project title is Hamsi Hybrid Wind and Solar Power Project. Cengiz Enerji Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş. planned to install 9 wind turbines 1*(4.2 MWm/3.2 MWe), 2*(4.2 MWm/3.3 MWe) and 6*(4.2 MWm/4.2 MWe) and 34.9997 MWm PV in Gerze district of Sinop province of Türkiye with the purpose of contributing to the national economy the meeting the increased electricity demand. The project was licensed on 03/06/2021 as 72.7996 MWm/35.0 MWe. As per the license issued by Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) all legal rights of the project is given to Cengiz Enerji Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş. An estimated electricity net generation of 140,000 MWh by the efficient utilization of the available wind and solar energy by the project activity will replace the grid electricity, which is constituted of different fuel sources, mainly fossil fuels. The electricity produced by project activity will result in a total emission reduction of 90,748 tonnes of CO2e/year and 907,480 tonnes of CO2 for the whole crediting period.
