Project Brief

İskenderun Enerji Üretim ve Ticaret A.Ş. (hereafter referred to as “İSKEN”) invested in a new Solar Power Project called SUGES SPP Project (hereafter referred to as the “SUGES SPP”). SUGES SPP involves the installation and operation of a licensed solar power project. Solar panels, inverters, and power transmission lines were intended to be built in Yumurtalık Region of Adana Province. The total capacity of the project is 21.12 MWp/20 MWe. Electricity generated from SUGES SPP is used for internal consumption of the Sugözü Thermal Power Plant not connected to the national grid directly.

An estimated net electricity generation of 35,370 MWh per year by the efficient utilization of the available solar energy by project activity replaces the grid electricity, which is constituted of different fuel sources, mainly fossil fuels. The electricity produced by the project results in a total emission reduction of 30,237 tonnes of CO2e/year. The total emission reduction by the project activity is estimated to be 302,370 tonnes of CO2e for the crediting period. The crediting period will be determined as a specific timeline by days after the date of registration of the project to GCC.
