| Project Brief | On May 2018, CBA signed a contract with ComBio in which the latter would provide the steam necessary to process bauxite. ComBio’s biomass boiler was installed within CBA’s plant. Operations started in March-2020 and production was ramped up in the following three months using eucalyptus woodchips. The fuel switch from natural gas and residual fuel oil to renewable biomass is expected to reduce an average of 214,612 tCO2e per year during the first crediting period of the project. Besides contributing to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 – Climate Action, the project is expected to contribute to other SDGs: 7; 8; 9 and 12. |
