Project Brief

The Lar do Sol - Casa Blanca II project consists in the implementation and operation of a new solar photovoltaic electricity generation complex. The complex includes four facilities that together have approximately 240MW of nominal power capacity.

The project is located in Pirapora municipality, in the state of Minas Gerais in the southeast of Brazil. The project activity is expected to deliver an average of 497,145 MWh/year of renewable electricity to the National Interconnected System (Sistema Interligado Nacional – SIN). The electricity generated by Lar do Sol Casa Blanca II will replace the equivalent amount of electricity generated by grid-connected power plants and by the addition of new generation sources according to combined margin calculations for its host country. This implementation and operation of this project activity promotes GHG emission reductions by displacing fossil fuel-based electricity generation that would otherwise occur.

The emission reduction of Lar do Sol - Casa Blanca II project is estimated at 208,882 tCO2e/year and 2,297,699 tCO2e throughout the 10 years of the crediting period.
