The purpose of the project activity is to generate clean electricity by harnessing the renewable “Solar Energy” with the help of Solar PV technology.
This is a greenfield 50 MWac Solar power plant being implemented in Kasargod, Kerala of India by Indian Renewaable Energy Development Agency Ltd. The electricity generated by the project “50 MW Solar Power Project in Kasargod, Kerala” will thus replace the equivalent amount of electricity generated by the operation of existing grid connected power plants (mostly fossil fuel-based power plants).
The estimated annual average electricity generation by the project activity 76,885 MWh and the estimated annual average GHG emission reductions by the project activity is 71,541 tCO2e.
