Project Brief |
The proposed project is a bundled project activity, which involves installation and operations of two 3 MW and one 8 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) based power project with an aggregated installed capacity of 14 MW in Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh State of India. The proposed project activity is promoted by Orissa Power Consortium Limited (OPCL), P. Balasubba Shetty Power & Steel (PBSP) and Sree Lalitha Parameswari Spinning Mills Private Limited (SLPS) with a view to align itself with sustainable development policies of India and has undertaken these projects to produce green power using solar as an energy source. The project activity has been undertaken to harness the available solar power potential to generate clean power in Telangana, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The project will generate approximately 23,301 MWh of electricity per annum, which will be sold to respective state electricity boards. The project activity will displace net generated electricity from Indian grid. The project activity will help in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction by using renewable resources (solar energy) for generating power which otherwise would have been generated using grid mix power plants, which is dominated by fossil fuel based thermal power plants. The project activity is a green field project aimed at utilizing solar energy to produce power. The technological details have been provided in Section A.3. The spatial extent of project boundary is the Indian grid. |
