Project Brief

The proposed project activity is a bundled project activity which involves installation and operation of 10 MW solar PV, 4MW solar PV and 1 MW solar PV based power with aggregated installed capacity of 15MW in Kurnool and Vishakhapatnam districts of Andhra Pradesh state of India. The proposed project activity is promoted by My Home Industries Private Limited (herein after also called as “MHIPL”) and Sree Jayajothi Cements Private Limited (herein after also called as “SJCPL”) with a view to align itself with sustainable development policies of India has undertaken this project to produce green power using solar as an energy source. Since the project activity will generate electricity through solar energy, a clean renewable energy source it will not cause any negative impact on the environment and thereby contributes to climate change mitigation efforts. The estimated annual average and the total CO2e emission reduction by the project activity over the crediting period of 10 years are expected to be 21592 tCO2e and 215920 tCO2e respectively.

VERIFICATION OUTCOME
Opinion

The GCC Project Verifier, KBS Certification Services  Ltd., has verified and certified that the GCC Project Activity – ‘15MW Bundled solar PV based power generation:

(a)   has correctly described the Project Activity in the Project Submission Form (version 3, dated 07/09/2023 including the applicability of the approved methodology AMS-I.F- Renewable electricity generation for captive use and mini-grid Version-5.0/4/ and meets the methodology applicability conditions, is additional and is expected to achieve the forecasted real and additional GHG emission reductions, complies with the monitoring methodology, has appropriately conducted local and global stakeholder consultation processes and has calculated emission reduction estimates correctly and conservatively;

(b)   is likely to generate GHG emission reductions amounting to the estimated 21,489 tCO2eq annual average, as indicated in the PSF, which are additional to the reductions that are likely to occur in absence of the Project Activity and complies with all applicable requirement of the GCC Program and ICAO’s requirements on CORSIA Emissions Unit Eligibility Criteria and CORSIA Eligible Emissions Units, as per Clarification No 1., v1.3 paragraph 21-23, and the ACCs expected to be issued during the crediting period is likely to be CORSIA eligible and can be used by International Airlines for offsetting their emissions during all phases of CORSIA, therefore requests GCC Steering Committee to append CORSIA Certification label (C+) to this project, including ISO 14064-2 and ISO 14064-3 /5/, and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity;

(c)    is not likely to cause any net-harm to the environment and/or society and complies with the Environmental and Social Safeguards Standard, and therefore requests the GCC Program to register the Project Activity, which is likely to achieve the requirements of the Environmental No-net-harm Label (E+) and the Social No-net-harm Label (S+); and

(d)   is likely to contribute to the achievement of United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), comply with the Project Sustainability Standard, and contribute to achieving a total of 5 SDGs, which is likely to achieve the Platinum SDG certification label (SDG+).
