Project Brief

Zongshang Hydro Power Project in Sichuan is located in Rangtang County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the third cascade hydropower station of the main stream of Zongke River under the "Joint Four" hydropower planning of Zongke River basin. In the plant, three mixed-flow turbine generators with a single capacity of 10MW are installed, with a total installed capacity of 30MW.The power station adopts water diversion development, with a design reference flow of 19.26m3/s and annual average power generation of 133.75 million kw.h.The electricity generated by the proposed project will be connected to Aba Prefecture Grid firstly, then to the Sichuan Provincial Power Grid, and finally to the China Centre Power Grid (hereafter referred as CCPG).  Prior to the start of implementation of the project activity, an equivalent amount of electricity will be provided by the grid (CCPG), which is dominated by traditional coal-fired power plants. This is also the baseline scenario. The Project activity will achieve greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions by avoiding CO2 emission from the business-as-usual scenario, electricity generated by those fossil fuel-fired power plants connected into CCPG.he emission reduction is therefore expected to be 953,45tCO2e per year in the first crediting period. As a renewable hydropower project.
