Project Brief

The proposed project activity consists in the implementation and operation of four new solar photovoltaic electricity generation facilities named Francisco Sá, Jaíba, Lavras and Salgueiro.
Francisco Photovoltaic Plant, with a nominal power of 99 MW. Jaíba Photovoltaic Plan, installed in an area of 255 hectares, located in Fazenda Marques, rural area of the city of Jaíba/MG. The UFV, with 101.63 MWp of power, will have a connection at 138 kV, via the sectioning of the distribution line (LD) Itacarambi 2 - Jarnaúba 1, via substation Manga 3. Lavras Photovoltaic Plant, with a nominal power of 152 MW and The Salgueiro Photovoltaic Plant is divided into three (03) plants called UFV Salgueiro 1, UFV Salgueiro 2 and UFV Salgueiro 3. The installation of the solar plant will take place in the municipality of Terra Nova, in the state of Pernambuco.

The project activity will deliver 1,088,820,011 MWh/year of renewable electricity to the National Interconnected System (Sistema Interligado Nacional - SIN). In the baseline scenario, electricity delivered to the grid by the project activity would have been generated by the operation of grid-connected power plants and by the addition of new generation sources, as reflected in the combined margin (CM) calculations. Hence, the project activity will promote GHG emissions reductions by displacing fossil fuel-based electricity generation that would otherwise occur.
