Project Brief

The Project Activity is the installation of a new grid-connected 250 MW wind power plant/unit at a site
where no renewable power plant was operating prior to the implementation of the project activity
(green-field plant). The project is implemented in Gujarat state of India.

M/s Ostro Kutch Wind Private Limited (OKWPL) is the SPVs of ReNew Power Private Limited and
the project is promoted by ReNew Power Private Limited. The project shall result in replacing
anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG’s) estimated to be approximately 719,932
tCO2/year, thereon displacing 773,289 MWh/ year amount of electricity from the gird.

Opinion

The project activity involves operation and installation of green field project activity of 250 MW wind power plant, in the Gujarat state of India. The aim of the project is to generate electricity from a renewable source (Wind), which leads to reduction of GHG emissions. The energy generated will be supplied to the Indian grid there by displacing the electricity which was previous generated predominantly from a carbon intensive fossil fuel-based power plant.
The project activity involves installation of 125 wind turbines having capacity of 2.0 MW each. Thus, the total installed capacity of the project activity comes to 250 MW. The wind power plant is located at the Ravali Village, Kutch District, Guajrat state of India. The project activity has already commissioned on 24/08/2018 and shall generate approximately 719,932 tCO2e per year during the crediting period of 10 years.
The start date of the project is 24/08/2018, the date is chosen based on the earliest date of interconnection. The emission reduction from the project activity is estimated to be 719,932 tCO2e (annual average) per year and displacing around 773,289MWh/year. The aim of the project is to generate electricity from a renewable source (Wind), which leads to reduction of GHG emissions. The energy generated will be supplied to the Indian grid there by displacing the electricity which was previous generated predominantly from a carbon intensive fossil fuel-based power plant.
