Project Brief

Van Integrated Solid Waste Disposal and Energy Production Facility Project (briefly Panda Van Biogas Project) was invested by “Panda Alüminyum A.Ş.”. The landfill site of the project is in Van province of Turkey. Project constructed pipe system to collect landfill gas through solid waste management and use it for electricity generation which is connected to Turkish National Grid. The proposed activity involves the collection and utilization of the LFG with an electricity component with an installed capacity 13,059 MWm and 12.726 MWe (1.414 x 9 MWe).

Expected solid waste excepted by project site is 151,745 tonnes/year according to waste agreement with local municipality. Estimated electricity generation and corresponding annual estimated emission reduction values are 89,081.978 MWh ( as per generation license) and 170,038 tCO2 respectively.
