Project Brief

Gemköprü Hydro Power Plant has been developed Kıvanç Enerji Üretim A.Ş. By means of reducing dependency to the fossil fuels, environmental pollution is significantly reduced. Also, clean energy is generated by using hydro power. Regarding to this, Kıvanç Enerji Üretim A.Ş. constructed a hydropower plant in Erkenek district, Malatya province, Turkey. Based on the applied tool, the project boundary is considered as the National Electricity Grid of Turkey. The baseline scenario refers to the energy generation from the fossil fuels. The project includes 2 units where they have 1.00 MWm /0.95 MWe for each. The total installed capacity is 2.00 MWm/1.90 MWe. Annual electricity production is expected to be 8.5 GWh/year. Because of avoiding to use fossil fuels, greenhouse gas emission reductions can be achieved. The average annual generated electricity is expected to be 8,500 MWh according to the feasibility report and the emission reduction is estimated around 4,850 tCO2e annually.
